Question 1

How should I prepare for vascular laser treatment?

Accepted Answer

Avoid sunbathing, sunbeds and fake tan during the laser treatment course. Tell Galadia about medications and relevant medical changes, and attend facial assessment without makeup or fragrance where possible. A patch test may be required.

Question 2

What areas can be treated?

Accepted Answer

Selected visible vessels on the face or body may be treated. Facial areas commonly include the nose, cheeks and chin, while selected leg spider veins may also be assessed.

Question 3

Are vascular therapy results permanent?

Accepted Answer

A treated vessel may remain closed, but new vessels can develop later because genetics, hormones, sun exposure, ageing and lifestyle factors may continue.

Question 4

Can blue-green spider veins be treated with this laser treatment?

Accepted Answer

The source clinic states that its capillary-reduction treatment is intended for red and purple spider veins rather than blue-green vessels. Blue-green, larger or symptomatic veins should be medically assessed to determine the appropriate treatment.

Question 5

Does vascular therapy hurt?

Accepted Answer

Pain tolerance varies. Laser treatment may feel warm or like a brief snap against the skin. Sclerotherapy involves small injections and may cause brief stinging or discomfort.

Question 6

Can vascular laser help rosacea-related redness?

Accepted Answer

It may help selected visible facial vessels and broken capillaries associated with rosacea. It does not treat every aspect of rosacea, and suitability should be assessed individually.

Question 7

What is the difference between laser vascular therapy and sclerotherapy?

Accepted Answer

Laser therapy uses targeted light energy and is generally used for smaller superficial vessels. Sclerotherapy uses an injected solution and may be more appropriate for selected larger or deeper veins, particularly on the legs.
