Do I need a diagnosis before fungal nail laser treatment?

Yes. The source clinic specifically requires a confirmed diagnosis from your GP or another appropriate healthcare professional before starting treatment.

Does fungal nail laser treatment hurt?

The source clinic describes the treatment as comfortable for most clients, although warmth can be felt in the nail as the laser heats the affected area.

How many sessions are usually needed?

The source clinic advises that treatment commonly involves around 2–3 sessions following consultation and patch testing, with treatments typically spaced around 4–6 weeks apart.

How soon will I see improvement?

Results depend on nail growth. The source clinic notes that full nail growth can take approximately 6–12 months, so improvement appears gradually as the affected nail grows out.

Can fungal nail treatment guarantee complete eradication?

No. The source clinic notes that results vary with severity and individual response, and no treatment can guarantee complete eradication in every case.

Can fungal nail infection affect fingernails as well as toenails?

Yes. Fungal nail infection can affect both toenails and fingernails.

What symptoms can fungal nail infection cause?

The source clinic describes nails becoming discoloured, thickened and brittle, with possible debris beneath the nail and potential spread to surrounding nails or skin.
