Question 1

How do I know if I am suitable for laser hair removal?

Accepted Answer

Suitability is assessed during consultation by reviewing your expectations, medical history, skin type and hair characteristics. A patch test is performed before starting treatment.

Question 2

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Accepted Answer

Sensation varies, but it is often described as a warm snap or the flick of an elastic band. Some areas are more sensitive than others, and settings are adjusted for safety and comfort.

Question 3

How many sessions will I need?

Accepted Answer

The source clinic recommends at least 6 sessions for many treatment areas, although the total varies according to hair type, skin type, hormonal factors, body area and goals.

Question 4

How often should sessions be spaced?

Accepted Answer

The source clinic generally recommends spacing sessions around 5–7 weeks apart, depending on the area and individual hair growth. Your exact schedule is discussed at consultation.

Question 5

Can laser hair removal be performed over tattoos?

Accepted Answer

No. Laser hair removal should not be performed directly over tattooed skin because the tattoo pigment can absorb laser energy and increase the risk of burns, blisters or skin damage.

Question 6

How should I prepare before treatment?

Accepted Answer

Avoid tanning and fake tan, do not wax or pluck, and shave the area around 24 hours before treatment. You should also disclose medications and relevant medical changes before your session.

Question 7

What aftercare is recommended?

Accepted Answer

Aftercare commonly includes soothing the area if needed, avoiding sunbeds and strong sun exposure, and avoiding very hot baths, showers or saunas for the advised period.
